Craniofacial and neurological manifestations in patients with Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

Introducción: Among the broad range of symptoms Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), patients can present craniofacial manifestations. Consequently, participation dental surgeon in evaluation stomatognathic system using a multidisciplinary approach model is very important. Objective: To identify and neurological manifestations from three hospitals district Lambayeque, Peru, 2019. Material Methods: A descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional study was carried out 59 diagnosed with GBS by means clinical previously calibrated neurologists (k=0.911). Additionally, an oral hygiene index, periodontal status, pH out. Data were processed frequency distribution tables. Results: 44.07% presented at least one functional alteration, such as unilateral limitation for facial expressions (25.42%), dysphagia (18.64%), alteration phonation (11.86%), loss sense taste (6.78%), showing involvement corresponding cranial nerves. In addition, unfavorable conditions oforal acid observed some cases, which proved adverse structures patients. Conclusion: The found GBS, cases palsy, dysphagia, difficulty phonation, taste, due to nerves that command these functions. poor hygiene, presence acidic created environment integrity structures.
